DINING

Casa Seawood has a fully-equipped kitchen that enables you to cook anything from a grilled sandwich to a holiday turkey dinner. But if cooking is not your thing or if you just need a break from the hot stove, here are a few options....

Timber Cove Inn — Just down the hill, this restaurant offers excellent dining, good sunset views, and a gigantic stone fireplace to mesmerize you as you sip your cocktails. Keep your eyes peeled for the local raccoons as you pass the ponds at the entrance.

Sea Ranch Lodge / The Smokehouse Grill — Emphasizes locally-caught seafood and locally-grown produce, with dramatic ocean views.

Trinks — Big deli sandwiches, awesome desserts, gourmet coffees, hot chocolate and chai tea. Who needs Starbucks? Drive half an hour north to Gualala and find it on the ocean side near the center of town.

Bones Roadhouse — Located on the north end of Gualala. Serving authentic Texas-style, wood-fired smoked barbecue brisket, chops, ribs, chicken, beer, and wine. Fun and funky roadhouse decor and atmosphere.

GROCERIES / SUNDRIES

Forget to bring an important item from home? Don't despair. You have plenty of options.

Fort Ross Store — A few minutes south on Highway 1, this small store has a deli, drinks, snacks and some food items, cleaning supplies, diving gear, sweatshirts, video rentals, newspapers, and even gas. Plan ahead, though, because it closes early.

Gualala Supermarket — Half an hour north on Highway 1, near the center of town, Gualala Market is one of two full-scale supermarkets in the village. Large and well-stocked with a wide range of grocery items, as well as fresh meats, seafood, and produce. Wine and liquor. Prices are similar to those of comparable Bay Area grocers.

Gualala True Value Hardware — Hardware, kitchen and bathroom goods, rugged outdoor clothing, diving equipment rentals, and much more.

Surf Supermarket — Well-stocked, with many specialty items and organics. Includes bakery and deli. Wine and liquor. Prices are similar to those of comparable Bay Area grocers. On weekends, The Surf often has its outdoor barbecue going, turning out barbecued chickens, ribs, and tri-tips.
